About The Position

The CTA Regulations Coordinator (Technical Manager IV) is responsible for coordinating and updating state and federal safety policies and procedures for fixed rail transit systems in Illinois. This role involves ensuring compliance with federal regulations, developing standard operating procedures, managing safety standards, and overseeing program budgets and expenditures. The position plays a crucial role in enhancing the safety and efficiency of public transportation in the state.

Requirements

  • Completion of a bachelor's degree in business or public administration, public safety, public security, city planning, urban and regional planning, accounting, or policy administration plus two years of relevant experience, OR eight years of relevant experience.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in analyzing and interpreting federal regulations related to rail transit safety.
  • Develop standard operating procedures to detail safety oversight requirements.
  • Ensure processes comply with federal rules and modify as necessary.
  • Review and recommend approval of invoices from consultants and oversight partner agencies.
  • Monitor the program budget and develop federal reports regarding expenditures.
  • Prepare special reports as requested.
  • Perform risk-based inspections as directed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
