The CTA National Technical Honor Society Sponsor is responsible for promoting recognition of academic excellence and performance by students. This role involves ensuring that students selected for the society meet national standards for admission and continue to participate and uphold the standards of the organization. The sponsor works cooperatively with the building principal to establish procedures for the chapter's functioning within national guidelines.

  • Works co-operatively with the building principal to establish procedures for the school's chapter functions within national guidelines.
  • Ensures that selection of membership, induction into the society, and maintenance of membership follows the procedures outlined by the National Technical Honor Society.
  • Distributes information about the school's chapter in a timely manner.
  • Ensures that service activities and other events meet national as well as local school system guidelines.
  • Maintains records as required and provides information as requested by the building principal.
  • Maintains an accurate record of all money collected and deposits money in the prescribed manner to the principal's designees.
  • Oversees meetings and elections of officers as outlined by the society's guidelines.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the principal such as participating in awards programs and graduation.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated management, leadership and human relations skills.
  • Ability to exercise good judgment in making decisions.
  • Proven ability to carry an assignment to its completion.
  • Demonstrated success in accomplishing tasks akin to the duties and responsibilities listed.
  • Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Calvert County Public Schools may find appropriate and acceptable.
  • Salary commensurate with qualifications and experience applied to the current year.
