About The Position

The CT/X-Ray Technologist is responsible for performing diagnostic imaging procedures, including computed tomography (CT) scans and general radiography (X-rays), to assist physicians in diagnosing and treating medical conditions. This role involves operating advanced imaging equipment, ensuring high-quality images, prioritizing patient safety, and maintaining accurate records.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologist ARRT(R) certification required and ARRT(CT) certification preferred but not required.
  • Licensed by the Texas Medical Board, MRT registration.
  • CPR certification for Health Care Providers.
  • Experience a plus, basic knowledge of all radiologic equipment. Must be proficient in all X-ray studies.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Experience in X-ray and CT required for full time positions and willing to cross-train all PRN positions into CT.
  • No on-call requirements for full-time or PRN positions.

Responsibilities

  • Perform diagnostic imaging procedures including X-rays and CT scans in accordance with physician orders and departmental protocols.
  • Ensure patient safety, comfort, and confidentiality at all times.
  • Prepare and position patients for procedures; explain the process and answer any patient questions.
  • Operate and maintain imaging equipment with attention to image quality and radiation safety.
  • Verify patient identity and review clinical information for accuracy.
  • Utilize PACS (Picture Archiving and Communication System) to store and retrieve images.
  • Monitor patients for adverse reactions to contrast agents and respond appropriately in emergencies.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and documentation in compliance with hospital and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with radiologists and other healthcare professionals to ensure timely and accurate diagnostic imaging.
  • Adhere to infection control and safety guidelines at all times.
