About the position

Perform CAT scan examinations on patients in age from birth to death. Coordinates patient flow as well as other activities involving the CT scanner. Supervises the operation of the CT scan room as well as providing direction for other personnel assigned to that area. CT Technologist works under the direction of the Director as well as the Vice President of Ancillary Personnel. Performs and administers contrast material for examinations. Operates and prepares CT equipment in safe and correct manner. Must participate in CQI activities and provide input for improvement. Assists physicians with procedures. Assists patients during examinations and biopsies. Communicates with nurses and physicians regarding patient care, provides directions to staff and patients. Maintains good repose with staff, physicians and patients. Replenishes supplies in the CT area. Performs necessary record keeping for procedures, which includes but is not limited to backing up exams, obtaining history sheets, and charging exam. Cleans and maintains equipment. Will transport patients, when necessary, assures proper patient identification by utilizing 2 identifier method. Takes night and weekend call. Is familiar and utilizes all radiation reducing measures. This includes utilizing the pediatric technique supplied on the machine when applicable. Complies with the policies, principles, and activities established by the Code of Conduct and the Corporate Compliance Program. Must pass initial competency test and year competency testing thereafter.

  • Perform record keeping for procedures.
  • Clean and maintain CT equipment.
  • Transport patients when necessary.
  • Ensure proper patient identification using a two-identifier method.
  • Take night and weekend call.
  • Utilize radiation reducing measures.

Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited school of Radiologic Technology.
  • Registration or registry eligible with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.
  • Current Radiation Operators Certification with the Kentucky Department of Human Resources.
  • CT experience and CT registry preferred.
  • BLS Required.
