About The Position

Department: Cat Scan Shift/schedule: Full Time (40 hrs/wk) GENERAL SUMMARY Works under the supervision of the Manager of CT. The CT Technologist's primary job function is to perform a variety of procedures utilizing CT equipment following established guidelines and protocols of the department. QUALIFICATIONS Education: High School Diploma required Graduate of an approved school of Radiologic Technology required Completion of an approved CT course required, -or- ARRT(CT) registry required Licensure: Ohio(R) required ARRT(R) required ARRT(CT) registry eligible required (completion of registry within one year of hire required) BLS within 90 days of hire required Kentucky(R) Required if applicable Experience: Six months experience in computed tomography with familiarity in scanning, techniques, interventional procedures and computer functions preferred. JOB SPECIFIC DUTIES AND PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS The following is a summary of the major job duties of this job. Other duties may be performed, both major and minor, which are not mentioned below. Specific activities may change from time to time. Identifies, greets and prepares patients for their procedure/examination. Assess provider's order, completes appropriate medical history, and reviews previous studies prior to exam. Performs venipuncture in preparation for the administration of Intravenous Contrast material. Performs appropriate procedures/examinations for all provider orders according to CT department protocols or special requests as approved by the Radiologist. Works with Central Scheduling, physicians' offices, and nursing personnel to schedule patients. Maintains department stock, cleanliness of work area and equipment Performs required Quality Assurance activities. Operates CT scanner to visualize pathologies and manipulates data to obtain optimal images. Performs other duties as assigned. Pre-cleans, decontaminates and transports contaminated instruments according to policy Performs intermediate-level disinfection and/ or high level disinfection per the Instructions for Use (IFU) by the manufacture.
