As a CT Technologist, you will produce cross-section images of internal organs and tissues for the diagnosis of various medical issues. Utilizing your advanced training and knowledge, you will accurately interpret scanning instructions, administer contrast materials, prepare and operate the equipment and position the patient to capture the appropriate images. This role is critical in the overall treatment of our patients, making you an invaluable asset to the Cleveland Clinic system. A caregiver in this position works various hours| 2:30pm—11:00pm.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited School of Radiologic Technology
  • Registered Technologist credentialed by The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists [R.T.(R) (ARRT)] in good standing
  • Certification in Computed Tomography [R.T.(R) (CT) (ARRT)] within one year of hire
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross
  • Current state licensure required prior to employment.
  • Knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy and related pathologic processes

Nice To Haves

  • One year of experience as a General Radiologic Technologist
  • Candidates with ARRT (MR) certification

Responsibilities

  • Provide computed tomography imaging and patient care services at defined levels for patients of all ages.
  • Check and prepare patients prior to CT study.
  • Acquire patients chart data/requisition and review both to determine correct room set-up and learn of any specific medical problems and contraindications to the study.
  • Verify that the study being ordered correlates to the diagnostic needs.
  • Assure patient's safety and comfort during procedures.
  • Educate patients regarding procedures, equipment and exams to ensure understanding and cooperation.
  • Prepare and administer contrast media or medications within the accepted scope of practice and applicable state and federal regulations.
  • Perform VNA punctures as necessary.
  • Maintain all aspects of the CT area, including the technical and clerical components, to ensure proper quality assurance results and any required documentation.
  • Acquire, archive, transmit and print images via PACS.
  • Observe potential equipment dysfunctions and report problems to appropriate individuals.
  • Maintain available equipment up-to-time at the highest level.
