As a CT Technologist, you will produce cross-section images of internal organs and tissues for the diagnosis of various medical issues. Utilizing your advanced training and knowledge, you will accurately interpret scanning instructions, administer contrast materials, prepare and operate the equipment and position the patient to capture the appropriate images. This role is critical in the overall treatment of our patients, making you an invaluable asset to the Cleveland Clinic system. A caregiver in this position works rotating days/evenings from 1:00PM – 11:30PM or 11:00AM – 9:30PM, including rotating weekends and holidays.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology
  • Registered Technologist credentialed by The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists R.T.(R) (ARRT) in good standing
  • Computed Tomography (CT) Certification [R.T.(R) (CT) (ARRT)] within one year of hire
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
  • Current state licensure
  • Knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy and related pathologic processes

Nice To Haves

  • One year of experience as a General Radiologic Technologist

Responsibilities

  • Acquire patients chart data/requisition and review both to determine correct room set-up and learn of any specific medical problems and contraindications to the study.
  • Verify that the study being ordered correlates to the diagnostic needs and that the patient’s demographic data is correct in all applicable systems.
  • Assure patient's safety and comfort during procedures.
  • Educate patients regarding procedure, equipment and exam to ensure understanding and cooperation.
  • Prepare and administer contrast media or medications within the accepted scope of practice and applicable state and federal regulations.
  • Perform VNA punctures, as necessary.
  • Maintain all aspects of the CT area, including the technical and clerical components, to ensure proper quality assurance results and any required documentation.
  • Acquire, archive, transmit and print images via PACS.
  • Complete appropriate paperwork and processes billing via RIS.
  • Observe potential equipment dysfunctions and report problems to appropriate individuals.
