About The Position

American Health Imaging is hiring a CT Technologist at our Cumming, GA location. This is a full-time position working Monday through Friday 8am - 4pm. The CT Technologist performs a variety of standard, and specialty Computed Tomography (CT) procedures to produce imaging studies using radiology technology to assist physicians with formulating a medical diagnosis while complying with safety and regulatory requirements. Specifically, conducts radiology exams and documents clinically appropriate results for interpretive physicians and records.

Requirements

  • Graduate of 24-month AMA-approved School of Radiology Technology
  • 12 months previous experience in diagnostic radiology or other imaging modality
  • ARRT certification in Computed Tomography
  • Applicable State Licensure, where required
  • IV credentialed if applicable

Nice To Haves

  • BLS certification preferred

Responsibilities

  • Performs complex tasks associated with the operation of CT scanners and related equipment to produce cross-section images of patients’ internal organs and tissues for the diagnosis of medical issues
  • Positions patients for CT scans using immobilization and protective equipment to comply with government regulations and to ensure the safety of patients and staff
  • Screens patients for CT safety prior to procedure performance
  • Starts I.V.’s, administers contrast media as directed and per protocol
  • Evaluates CT scans for technical quality, collate processed images and sequence of exposure and labels appropriately
  • Loads and operates power injectors for contrast media administration
  • Applies the profession's code of ethics in all aspects of practice
  • Maintains knowledge of, observes, and enforces the safety measures in the Environment of Care
  • Maintains accurate patient records.
  • Assists in other modalities as requested and as allowed by licensure/certification

  • Knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy
