About The Position

What you will do: The CT Technologist is responsible for reviewing the Physician Order and reason for exam, preparing the patient, positioning, and performing CT imaging of patients. The CT Tech Operates diagnostic imaging equipment to obtain images of the designated body portions for interpretation by physicians, with attention to As Low as Reasonably Achievable (ALARA) techniques.

Requirements

  • Completion of an accredited Radiologic Technologist program and registered as a Radiographer by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
  • Advanced certification in CT; or CT registry-eligible, with completion of advanced certification in CT within one year of date of hire.
  • A good working knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy and proficiency in venipuncture
  • Ability to be very conscientious and detail oriented.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact with patients, various levels of hospital personnel, outside customers, and community groups.

Responsibilities

  • Operating the scanner controls/table and peripheral devices which may include manipulation of techniques, tube warm up and calibration as well as remote access to applications and service, EKG machine and contrast power injector.
  • Reviewing patient charts and radiological history for each individual patient to determine proper protocol and identify any contraindications to oral and or intravenous preps based on the physician’s order, patient history, and personal judgment.
  • Administering contrast media required per specific diagnostic protocols and on occasion, assist the physician/Advanced Practice Professionals with the performance of CT-guided invasive procedures.
  • Applying knowledge of human anatomy and understanding of patient's condition to determine appropriate CT Scanning techniques and to assure accurate, high quality images for diagnostic interpretation.
