About The Position

The CT Technologis t works as a member of the CT team, reporting to the CT Manager. This role provides CT based imaging to patients and supports the patient experience throughout their time at GLMI. Effective communication between departments and exemplary patient care must be maintained. This role performs a variety of tasks beyond CT imaging including; patient calls, documentation in charts, and assisting with both patient and other co-worker needs.

Requirements

Experience in radiology and medical terminology
Operate standard office equipment such as fax machine, copier, scanner etc.
Associates in Applied Science, Radiologic Technology from ARRT approved program
New York State Radiologic Technology License or valid temporary license
Valid BLS Certification
ARRT Certification in CT required, or within 1 year of training completion date in accordance with GLMI policy
Must have the ability to pull, push and lift patients and equipment.
Standing, walking, sitting, keyboard use for long periods of time
Ability to listen and communicate with patients face to face or over the phone
Will be required to read, write, work in a fast-paced office setting
Ability to make decisions and think quickly
Must have mental and physical capabilities to perform all tasks listed above

Responsibilities

Performs CT examinations as ordered by the referring physician
Assists with CT guided Interventional Radiology procedures
Starts IV lines on patients using proper technique
Communicates with patients regarding medical history, symptoms and explanation of procedures with associated documentation
Enters data in Radiology Information System, assuring accuracy and completeness
Verifies accuracy of physician orders for diagnostic imaging while utilizing GLMI scan protocols
Maintains a clean and orderly work area
Performs daily quality assurance testing with documentation
Attends to the medical needs of patients at all times.
Maintains patient modesty at all times and ensures the safety of patients in the department.
Helps fellow technologists when not busy with CT specific duties including assisting with DR x-ray procedures
Restocks supplies and maintains a list of items to be ordered
