About The Position

City of Hope is a leading cancer research and treatment organization, founded in 1913, dedicated to making hope a reality for those affected by cancer and diabetes. It is one of the largest and most advanced cancer research and treatment organizations in the U.S., known for breakthrough cancer medicines, human synthetic insulin, and monoclonal antibodies. City of Hope operates an NCI-designated comprehensive cancer center, ranked top 5 nationally for cancer care, with an integrated model spanning care, research, academics, and philanthropy. Its national system includes campuses in Los Angeles, Southern California, Orange County, and facilities in Atlanta, Chicago, and Phoenix areas. This PRN (as needed) role involves working M-F dayshift, with flexibility for two 12-hour or two 10-hour shifts per week, and may require some X-Ray coverage. The individual must safely and proficiently operate all routine Computerized Tomography equipment, adhere to compliance requirements, and perform duties ethically. The position demands initiative, independent judgment, a positive attitude, and the ability to produce high-quality images with minimal repeats. The technologist will manage multiple room assignments and various diagnostic and interventional CT exams daily, communicate effectively with medical staff, patients, and families, and participate in performance improvement initiatives. They will also assist with departmental operations such as clerical duties, inventory, stocking, and light housekeeping, and may be involved in training new employees.

Requirements

  • High School Graduate or equivalent
  • Satisfactory completion of formal Radiologic Technology training in an AMA approved school
  • Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technology in Radiography, ARRT (R) (CT)
  • Registered by the Arizona Department of Health Services (ADHS) in Radiography (R), Computerized Tomography (CT)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) American Heart Association Certification

Responsibilities

  • Operate all routine Computerized Tomography equipment in a safe and proficient manner
  • Abide by and enforce all compliance requirements and policies
  • Perform responsibilities in an ethical manner consistent with the organization's values
  • Produce high quality images with a minimum of repeats
  • Handle multiple room assignments and all different types of exams (diagnostic and interventional computerized tomography) on a daily basis
  • Communicate with physicians, patients, families, and ancillary hospital personnel
  • Participate in performance improvement initiatives
  • Assist with other activities as deemed necessary for the day-to-day operation of the department (i.e. clerical duties, inventory, stocking, light housekeeping duties, etc.)
  • May participate in the training and orientation of other employees
