About The Position

How You’ll Help Transform Healthcare: Up to $30,000 new hire sign on bonus and up to $7,000 in relocation assistance is available. HOURS: 10 hour shifts (30 minute break) start time 7a, 4 days a week (Mon-Fri). If applicable due to department staffing; 8 hour shift (30 minute break), 5 days a week Mon-Fri, start time between 7a to 830a. The CT (Computed tomography) Technologist performs a variety of technical procedures to apply prescribed ionizing radiation for radiological diagnosis of patients. The CT (Computed tomography) Technologist Operates highly specialized, technical equipment to obtain quality images. Works with physicians, other healthcare providers and patients. Performs IV contrast injections and other skills as required. Evaluates and positions patients. Interprets information needed to identify each patient’s requirement and/or specific needs and provides care per applicable policy and procedures. Interacts with patients, families, visitors and all members of the healthcare team to develop, coordinate and manage the plan of care. Assists patients with scheduling, registration, file management and computer processing Trains students and staff as assigned. May need to travel to other Carilion facilities to meet patient needs.

Requirements

  • Education: High school graduate or equivalent. Graduate of an approved school of Radiologic Technology.
  • Experience: none
  • Licensure/Certification: Must be CT registered within one year of hire. ARRT registry
  • Life Support: AHA-BLS-HCP
  • Other: Good interpersonal and technical skills, and flexibility in assignments.
