About The Position

Operates Computed Tomography (CT) equipment, prepares for examination, and
ensures proper information is obtained for Physician to make a diagnosis.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology Program, required.
• New York State Department of Health licensure as a Radiologic Technologist, required.
• Certification in IV Contrast Administration, required.
• American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Registered Technologist (RT), required.
• American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Computed Tomography (CT), required within eighteen (18) months of entry date into position.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support certification, required.
• Minimum of six (6) months Radiology Technologist experience, required.

Nice To Haves

• Prior CT experience, preferred.

Responsibilities

• Administers routine/emergency CT procedures and special procedures.
• Produces high quality images with minimum stress and exposure to patient, by dealing tactfully and cooperatively with patients and general public.
• Provides information and explanation to patient in regard to examination.
• Checks patient identification in order to ensure proper administration of CT scans.
• Processes, develops and reformates images as required. Networks images to PACS.
• Performs clerical and technical duties including, but not limited to, maintaining logs, posting charges, and computer data entry.
• Assists in the orientation and training of new Technologists.
• Performs related duties, as required.
