Position Summary: We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a CT Technologist - Full Time Evenings - Cat Scan - Radiology-Cat Scan - Full-Time - 04:00 PM - 12:00. In this role, the successful candidate Provides health care services, applying x-ray energy to assist in diagnosis or treatment. Performs radiographic procedures and related techniques, producing images for the interpretation by; or at the request of a licensed practitioner. Exercises professional judgment in performance of services and maintains demeanor complementary to medical ethics. Provides appropriate patient care and recognizes patient conditions essential for successful completion of the procedure. The computed tomography technologist must demonstrate an understanding of human cross-section anatomy, physiology, pathology, pharmacology and medical terminology. By performing all tasks in an efficient, responsible and caring manner, the employee will be dedicated to meet the needs of customers and staff. In doing so, will demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care with respect to the special needs of each patient age group serviced as well as those persons with disabilities
Requirements
- Current New York State licensure to practice Diagnostic Radiology
- Certified by and Registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT). BLS required.
- Completion of a two year approved ARRT school.
- Completion of required CT specific CE credits.
- Required Licenses: Radiologic Tech Lic - NYS
Responsibilities
- Operates CT equipment in accordance with State and Federal codes
- Positions patient for proper orientation of anatomy
- Applies principles of radiation protection to minimize exposure to patient, self and others
- Evaluates images for technical quality
- Displays proper procedures for the preparing, labeling and dispensing of radiographic contrast media and the labeling of medications on the sterile field
- Verifies informed consent, completes Site Verification forms and assists licensed practitioner during interventional CT procedures, applies aseptic surgical techniques. Evaluates requisition

- Operates functions of HIS/RIS and PACS in accordance with hospital and department policy
- Performs Daily Quality Assurance activity based upon established departmental protocol
