About The Position

This position is full-time, 80 hours per pay period, 10-hour shift, night shift, 8:30 p.m. to 7:00 a.m., with alternating weekends and holidays. Will cross train radiologic technologists. This position will assist with staffing needs at both sites: Northwestern Medicine Palos Hospital and Northwestern Medicine Orland Park Palos Imaging. #NMSouth #LI-CC1

Requirements

ARRT
IEMA Division of Nuclear Safety
BLS through American Heart Association
2 to 3 years of undergraduate education or equivalent
1 to 3 years experience
Physical demands required for this role include lift/carry up to 50 pounds and a push/pull force up to 50 pounds

Responsibilities

Positions and immobilizes patient on examining table.
Administers contrast media oral and/or IV contrast in accordance with department policies and procedures, patient history indicators, exam protocols and physician orders and follows through with post exam instructions.
Enters data such as type of scan, slice thickness, scan time and other technical data into computer.
Communicates with patient before and during procedure; monitors safety, comfort.
Views images of organs or tissue on video display screen to ensure quality of pictures; produces radiographs.
Performs CT equipment QA and maintains required logs.
Performs clerical tasks such as receiving orders, scheduling patients, and recordkeeping.
Maintains and cleans work area and equipment; replenishes supplies as needed
