About The Position

The CT Technologist is responsible for performing computed tomography (CT) imaging procedures under the direction of physicians and radiology leadership. This role involves operating CT equipment, ensuring radiation safety, and producing high-quality diagnostic images to support patient diagnosis and treatment in a fast-paced hospital environment.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Graduate of an AMA-accredited Radiography Program
  • ARRT certification required
  • CT certification (ARRT) required
  • Valid Massachusetts state license in Radiation Control required
  • Minimum 3 years of Radiologic Technologist experience OR 1 year of recent CT Tech experience (within the last 5 years)
  • Current BLS certification required
  • Strong English communication skills
  • Strong knowledge of CT imaging procedures and radiation safety
  • Ability to operate advanced imaging equipment accurately
  • Excellent patient care and communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail and image quality assessment
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
  • Critical thinking and sound clinical judgment
  • Adherence to safety, infection control, and compliance standards

Responsibilities

  • Perform CT scans with high technical accuracy and attention to detail
  • Operate CT control consoles and related imaging equipment
  • Select appropriate imaging protocols based on physician orders
  • Position patients and use immobilization techniques for optimal imaging
  • Review imaging requests and verify patient information prior to procedures
  • Explain procedures to patients and provide support throughout the exam
  • Assist with and/or administer contrast media per protocol
  • Monitor patients during procedures and respond to any changes
  • Apply radiation safety standards to minimize exposure risks
  • Evaluate images for quality and diagnostic accuracy
  • Maintain accurate documentation and patient records
  • Ensure compliance with infection control, safety, and hospital policies
  • Coordinate workflow to support timely imaging services
  • Maintain equipment and troubleshoot as needed
  • Participate in continuing education and certification maintenance
