This role is at Northwestern Medicine Lake Forest Hospital, which is undergoing a significant expansion to enhance healthcare services, doubling inpatient capacity and modernizing the Emergency Department with advanced imaging technology. The hospital is seeking passionate CT Technologists to operate cutting-edge Siemens Force scanners, contributing to patient care. This is a part-time position, 24 hours per week, as part of a Weekend Program, offering premium pay on top of base pay. The schedule involves two 12-hour shifts on Saturday and Sunday, from 12:00 PM to 12:30 AM, with holidays required when applicable. The CT Technologist is expected to uphold the mission, vision, and values of Northwestern Medicine, adhering to the organization’s Code of Ethics, Corporate Compliance Program, and all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines, and regulatory standards.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited Radiology Technologist Program
  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Computed Tomography (CT) within 12 months of hire
  • Illinois Emergency Management Agency (IEMA) Accreditation
  • Basic Life Support (BLS)

Responsibilities

  • Maintains accountability for patient safety throughout the imaging process, including screening, preparation, monitoring, and post-procedure care.
  • Produces diagnostic-quality images using approved protocols and professional standards.
  • Apply professional judgment within approved protocols to optimize image quality and address imaging challenges.
  • Reviews images prior to exam completion and initiates corrective action when diagnostic adequacy is not met.
  • Administers contrast in accordance with policy, including screening for contraindications and patient monitoring (as applicable).
  • Operates imaging equipment and maintains imaging room readiness.
  • Identifies equipment performance issues and initiates follow-up through established service processes.
  • Coordinates exam flow and prioritizes time-sensitive studies.
  • Maintains accurate and timely documentation in medical record and image archive system, including exam set-up, image routing, result availability and charging accuracy.
  • Adheres to organizational values, ethical standards, and compliance requirements.
  • Consistently upholds all applicable quality and safety standards within diagnostic imaging, such as radiation safety, MRI safety, Infection prevention measures safe practices (as applicable to the role) to protect self, patients, visitors and team members
  • Ensures a positive patient experience throughout care delivery
  • Supports department initiatives to improve relationships, reliability, efficiency, growth
  • Supports additional responsibilities aligned with patient care and department needs
