Northwestern Medicine Lake Forest Hospital Campus Development This is a full-time position at 40 hours per week located at Lake Forest Hospital. This role is an evening 2nd shift position. The CT Technologist reflects the mission, vision, and values of NM, adheres to the organization’s Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program, and complies with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines and all other regulatory and accreditation standards.

Requirements

  • ARRT
  • IEMA Division of Nuclear Safety
  • BLS through American Heart Association
  • 2 to 3 years of undergraduate education or equivalent

Nice To Haves

  • ARRT registry in CT or MRI
  • 1 year experience

Responsibilities

  • Positions and immobilizes patient on examining table.
  • Administers contrast media oral and/or IV contrast in accordance with department policies and procedures, patient history indicators, exam protocols and physician orders and follows through with post exam instructions.
  • Enters data such as type of scan, slice thickness, scan time and other technical data into computer.
  • Communicates with patient before and during procedure; monitors safety, comfort.
  • Views images of organs or tissue on video display screen to ensure quality of pictures; produces radiographs.
  • Performs CT equipment QA and maintains required logs.
  • Performs clerical tasks such as receiving orders, scheduling patients, and recordkeeping.
  • Maintains and cleans work area and equipment; replenishes supplies as needed
