Requirements

  • Education: Completion of an accredited radiologic technology program.
  • Licensure: Current California Radiologic Technologist (CRT) license upon hire.
  • National Registered Technologist - Radiography (RT(R)) certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) upon hire.
  • National Registered Technologist - Computed Tomography (RT(CT)) certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) within one year of hire.
  • Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association upon hire.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience as a CT Technologist in a hospital or clinical setting.
  • Experience with various CT equipment vendors.
  • Experience with PACS systems.
  • Possesses a current ARRT (CT) certification.
  • Demonstrates strong clinical skills and technical expertise in CT imaging.

Responsibilities

  • Perform High-Quality CT Procedures: Execute a wide range of CT procedures, including but not limited to, head, chest, abdomen, pelvis, and extremities, according to physician orders and established protocols.
  • Ensure accurate patient positioning and utilize appropriate imaging parameters to obtain optimal diagnostic images.
  • Minimize radiation exposure by adhering to ALARA (As Low As Reasonably Achievable) principles.
  • Patient Care and Assessment: Provide compassionate and professional care to patients of all ages, including infants, adolescents, adults, and geriatric populations.
  • Assess patient conditions and medical histories to ensure safe and effective imaging procedures.
  • Address patient concerns and provide clear explanations of procedures.
  • Start IV's for the injection of contrast.
  • Post-Processing and Image Analysis: Perform advanced post-processing techniques, including multiplanar reconstruction (MPR), 3D rendering, and volume rendering.
  • Analyze and interpret CT images to identify anatomical structures and pathological findings.
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of cross-sectional anatomy and pathology to provide valuable information to radiologists and physicians.
  • Equipment Operation and Maintenance: Operate and maintain CT equipment, ensuring proper functionality and adherence to safety standards.
  • Perform quality control checks and troubleshoot equipment malfunctions.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work enviroment.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate effectively with radiologists, physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Communicate patient information and imaging findings accurately and efficiently.
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to departmental initiatives.
  • Adhere to Regulatory Standards: Comply with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations, as well as hospital policies and procedures.
