About The Position

Beloit Health System is looking to add a CT Technologist to our Team! Sign-On Bonus: Yes Shift: 2nd or 3rd Schedule: 1p - 11p or 9 p – 7a Hours per week: 28 - 32 Benefits Status : Eligible Department : CT In this position the CT Technologist Provide patient services using imaging modalities as prescribed by a physician, performs radiologic and other related imaging procedures, producing images for interpretation by a physician, and apply principles of radiation protection. The CT Technologist will evaluate radiographs for technical quality, and exercise professional judgement in the performance of procedures. Performs diagnostic radiographic services Greets customers in a friendly, but professional manner Ensures proper patient identification Operates imaging equipment and other equipment/devices as appropriate Ensures proper patient positioning and immobilizes patients as necessary Selects and/or calculates exposure factors according to age specific guidelines. Applies principles of radiation protection to minimize exposure to the patient, self, and others Evaluates radiography for technical quality and patient identification. Assumes responsibility for provision of physical and psychological needs patients during procedures Administers or assists with administration of contrast media, as required. Assists physician with fluoroscopic and specialized interventional radiography procedures Initiates basic life support procedures for patients if necessary. Ensures proper documentation of exam, technical factors, quality improvement,,etc. Performs quality control checks as required. Rotates weekends and holidays and participates in the "on call" program. Maintains accurate patient records and files with confidentiality, performing all PACs functions Assumes responsibility for assigned area ensuring the work are is neat, orderly, and stocked Assumes responsibility for portions of department QA/QI program Supervises, assists, instructs, and communicates effectively with radiology students Other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Graduate of accredited Radiography school
  • Current WI Radiographer license
  • CT Certification preferred upon hire (required within one year of training completion)
  • CPR certification
  • ARRT Certification, maintain CEUs required by ARRT
  • Ability to interpret, adapt and apply the proper procedure to Beloit Health System policies
  • Possess the training, knowledge, and skills necessary to perform the following activities for patients of following age groups: neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric
  • Adheres to corporate values and defined work habits of Beloit Health System
  • Keeps personal medical information about patients confidential
  • Involves extended periods of sitting, standing, walking, fine finger movements, manual and finger dexterity and eye/hand coordination
  • Involves lifting/carrying items ranging in weight from 20-50 pounds
  • Involves pushing and pulling items ranging in weight from 150-300 pounds
  • Ability to twist and balance
  • Involves working with radiant/thermal energy, operating equipment and machinery
  • Ability to work alone and independently, in a group setting

Responsibilities
