About The Position

Under the direction of the designated section leader, leads or performs Computed Tomography Imaging according to protocols established for various age groups of patients, requiring minimal supervision. Freestanding facility in addition to CT must also perform x-ray. Leads or performs a variety of procedures for CT, including, but not limited to, Basic portable, fluoroscopy, extremity and chest x-rays, advanced computer skills, biopsies, drainage, trauma alerts, core CT protocols, CT advanced level recons, Neuro and Cardiovascular CTAs, independent workstation proficiency, IV skills, QA maintenance, sterile contrast studies acquired by the wide variety of advanced Computed Tomography principles that will require independent judgment, ingenuity and initiative to apply prescribed ionizing radiation. Assumes responsibility for designated area or procedures, as required. Serves as resource person, assists work schedule, interdepartmental committee lead, assist with policy, protocol and QA program development, and ensures proper safety protocols are followed. Assists Section Leader in orienting, scheduling, evaluating, disciplining and assigning work to employees. Assesses the age-specific needs of the patients. Responsible for performing job duties in accordance with the mission, vision and values of Tampa General Hospital.

Requirements

  • One (1) year progressive responsibility within a CT diagnostic imaging department.
  • Registered American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) as a Radiation Therapy (RT), Nuclear Medicine (NM), or Radiography (R).
  • American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS).
  • CT Registry required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

Responsibilities
