About The Position

The Wellstar Diagnostic Float Team (WEST Team) supports a variety of imaging services across our facilities. Region Three includes Spalding Medical Center, Sylvan Grove Medical Center, and West Georgia Medical Center. As a CT Technologist for Region Three, you will apply your expertise to deliver safe, high-quality imaging and a supportive patient experience at each location you serve. If you prefer a role that avoids routine, lets you use your full skill set, and provides straightforward pay, this could be a strong fit. Pay: In return for stepping in where you’re needed most, Float Pool members earn a higher base rate and may be eligible for a float incentive. Schedule & Incentives: Float Pool technologists have clarity and choice: This full-time position offers a $20,000 sign-on bonus Multiple shift options available to self-schedule up to 8 weeks in advance Monthly schedule includes 2 Monday shifts, 2 Friday shifts, and 3 weekend shifts (Sat/Sun)

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology program
  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a Radiologic Technologist in a hospital setting
  • Minimum 2 years of CT experience in a hospital setting
  • ARRT-R (Radiography)
  • ARRT-CT (Computed Tomography)
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) – American Heart Association

Responsibilities

  • Perform CT exams per physician orders, department protocols, and safety standards.
  • Verify patient identity, obtain relevant history, and screen for contraindications (including contrast risk).
  • Explain procedures clearly using AIDET and communicate with patients/families with empathy and confidence.
  • Prepare and position patients; assist with mobility, safe transfers, and use immobilization/shielding as needed.
  • Establish IV access using sterile technique and maintain venipuncture competency.
  • Administer contrast media safely and monitor patients for adverse reactions; escalate concerns promptly.
  • Operate CT scanners and power injectors safely; confirm proper anatomical markers and scan parameters.
  • Optimize technique to achieve diagnostic image quality while minimizing radiation dose (ALARA).
  • Evaluate image quality, recognize urgent findings/clinical changes, and involve the radiologist/physician when indicated.
  • Complete documentation accurately and on time; manage RIS entries, PACS uploads, and CDs/logs when required.
  • Perform, document, and follow through on QC checks, calibration verification, and compliance/audit standards.
  • Maintain smooth daily operations by prioritizing workload, supporting cross-coverage/clerical needs, keeping rooms stocked and equipment cleaned/disinfected, participating in on-call, and adhering to regulatory/Joint Commission standards.
