Position Purpose Perform imaging procedures at a technical level requiring independent judgment, ingenuity, and initiative to apply prescribed ionizing radiation for diagnostic purposes.

Requirements

Graduate of an ARRT-approved school of Radiologic Technology or completion of an accredited CNMT program.
ARRT registry eligible technologists must obtain ARRT certification within 6 months of hire.
CT registry must be acquired within 18 months of obtaining the primary registry or date of hire if already certified.
CNMT graduates must obtain CNMT registry within 6 months of hire.
ARRT certification as a Radiologic Technologist or CNMT certification.
CT registry within required timeframe.
CPR or BLS certification (AHA standards including didactic and skills demonstration) within 30 days of hire.
All CT Technologists working in NY facilities performing contrast media injection must be certified by ARRT or NMTCB and licensed through the New York State Department of Health.

Responsibilities

Perform CT procedures using established protocols, including contrast administration.
Operate advanced imaging equipment for acquisition, analysis, and documentation of image data.
Ensure accurate coding, tracking, and archiving of exams; enter charges appropriately.
Administer oral, rectal, and IV contrast per physician orders and assess patient risk factors.
Communicate clearly with patients to explain procedures and ease concerns.
Apply independent judgment to adjust protocols for optimal diagnostic results.
Demonstrate strong teamwork and patient-centered care with dignity and respect.
Verify patient identity using two identifiers and follow universal protocol.
Document patient history and maintain accurate electronic records.
Perform venipuncture and operate power injectors per department standards.
