About The Position

Under the direction of the Department Director/Manager/ CT Lead, the Computed Tomogradphy Technologist is responsible for producing quality diagnostic image of human anatomy and vascular structures following prescribed protocols. Performs examinations in a proficient, courteous, and professional manner so as to favorably promote the services offered at the facility. To help achieve our mission, you will complete ancillary tasks to ensure efficient and consistent departmental operations. Your ability to demonstrate radiation protection/safety for patients, staff and self, as outlined in department protocols and regulatory guidelines, to ensure the safety of the patients and staff is of vital importance. Maintaining equipment, exam rooms and work areas in a neat and safe condition to ensure the safety of the patients and employees is required.

Requirements

  • High School Graduate or equivalent required.
  • Diploma from a certified school of radiologic technology.
  • Minimum one-year experience as a registered Computed Tomography Technologist required, acute care experience preferred.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) or CPR Certification through the American Heart Association required.
  • Active American Registry of Radiology Technologists (ARRT)(CT) license required.
  • COMMUNICATION SKILLS: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, regulatory or accreditation requirements Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • REASONING ABILITY: Intermediate to High Skills: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Responsibilities

  • Completing ancillary tasks to ensure efficient and consistent departmental operations.
  • Demonstrating radiation protection/safety for patients, staff and self.
  • Maintaining equipment, exam rooms and work areas in a neat and safe condition.
  • Demonstrates knowledge and ensures compliance with all regulatory bodies, e.g. The Joint Commission and American College of Radiology (ACR) and Title 22 standards and guidelines.
  • Demonstrates compliance with hospital policies and procedures at all times.
  • Demonstrates strong organization, communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrates ability to relate to clinical personnel and medical staff, as well as ability to interact well with the public.
  • Demonstrates ability to perform CT exams independently
  • Demonstrates ability to follow physician’s orders.
  • Demonstrates ability to access patency of IV sites before injections.
  • Demonstrates ability to look up lab values and pull related exams for radiologist viewing
