About The Position

Under the supervision of the Director of Imaging, the CT Technologist is responsible for the operation of a CT scanner to perform diagnostic CT exams according to the physician’s orders and the radiologist’s guidelines. Performs CT examinations of adult patients of various ages.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited or registered school of Radiologic Technology required.
  • ARRT certification in Radiologic Technology required.
  • ARRT certification in Computerized Tomography required.
  • Minimum one year CT experience required.
  • Current certification in Basic Life Support required.
  • Customer service abilities including effective listening skills.
  • Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Comprehensive knowledge of CT cross-sectional anatomy, positioning, radiographic techniques, and radiation protection concepts.
  • Insures proper administration of oral and intravenous contrast material when appropriate.
  • Follows radiation safety techniques in accordance with departmental procedures and the Tennessee Regulations for Radiation Control.
  • Explains procedures to patients and addresses their concerns.
  • Orients and mentors new staff members.
  • Demonstrates outstanding customer service and displays appropriate behavior.
  • Performs all duties in accordance with Tennessee Oncology Policies and Procedures Manual and supplemental procedure established for its Imaging Centers.
