Job Description: Position Overview: The CT Technologist provides quality diagnostic CT scans and assures the needs of patients are met. Assure that the primary needs of patients are met and that patients are satisfied with their care. Perform CT scans to all regions of the body. Assist radiation therapist with simulation procedures. Assure smooth functioning of the day-to-day operation. Administer medical information in a professional and accurate manner that complies with federal and state regulations. Maintain positive patient relations.

Requirements

  • Education: Certified by the American Registry of Radiologic Technology in Computed Tomography
  • Specific skills & abilities: Competency in operating a CT scanner and console.
  • Proficient in using electronic medical records.
  • Patient / customer service.
  • Communication: interpersonal, listening, and writing.
  • Medication knowledge.
  • Compassion and kindness.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks.
  • Organizational skills with the ability to prioritize.
  • Teamwork skills.
  • Understanding of compliance and regulations.
  • Attention to detail.
  • The ability to maintain confidentiality.

Nice To Haves

  • Preferred two to three years of working experience as a registered Computed Tomography Technologist.

Responsibilities

  • Understanding accurate positioning of patients
  • Performing scans per physician prescription
  • Administering contrast safely for necessary (diagnostic and/or treatment planning) studies
  • Providing high quality images to be accurately read by Radiologist
  • Applying principles of ALARA to minimize exposure to patient, self and others
  • Verify physicians intent each day prior to exam
  • Identify patient appropriately prior to scan
  • Detect equipment malfunctions
  • Assure ACR compliance and accreditation
  • Report as requested to the Radiation Oncologist and/or Chief Medical Physicist
  • Other duties as assigned to support the mission of The Cancer & Hematology Centers.
