About The Position

Adventist Health Tehachapi Valley has been providing high-quality healthcare services since 1934. We are comprised of a 25-bed hospital, wide range of outpatient services, emergency department, rural health clinics and medical offices. Tehachapi is located just north of Southern California's highly populated areas, with a mountain locale known for its outdoor living. Residents enjoy the scenic beauty, extreme sports and wildlife. Job Summary: Operates computed tomography (CT) equipment, producing cross-sectional images of patients' bones, organs and tissue that are used to diagnose medical conditions. Performs a variety of imaging procedures not limited to CT, including general radiography and fluoroscopy.

Requirements

• Associate’s degree in Radiologic Technology: Preferred
• Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists: R.T. (R)(CT)(ARRT) OR R.T. (R)(ARRT): Required
• Radiologic Tech (RT) in the state of practice: Required in CA
• Advanced Certification in the modality of CT: Required in OR and HI, Preferred in CA
• Basic Life Support (BLS OR HS-BLS OR RQIBLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy: Required
• Fluoroscopy license in state of employment: Required in CA, if employee operates fluoroscopy equipment
• Venipuncture certification: Preferred in CA and OR
• AHA-BLS or ARC-BLS: Required

Nice To Haves

• Associate’s degree in Radiologic Technology
• Advanced Certification in the modality of CT
• Venipuncture certification in CA and OR

Responsibilities

• Assesses, plans, implements and evaluates care for patients ranging in age from adolescence through geriatric.
• Produces sagittal and coronal reformatted images for radiologist interpretation.
• Uses PACS and teleradiology system to correctly transfer images to the appropriate location.
• Maintains accurate records, files and billing information.
• Ensures the integrity of patient medical images and data while adhering to Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and other patient confidentiality guidelines and regulations.
• Performs routine maintenance and calibration of equipment and manages supply inventory.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
