About The Position

The position involves performing diagnostic computed tomography (CT) scan images, producing quality CT exam images, and exercising professional judgment in the performance of procedures. The CT Technologist will provide patient care, initiate life support measures as necessary, and interact effectively with patients, physicians, family members, department staff, and healthcare workers. The role requires the ability to operate CT equipment, perform related procedures, and utilize new technology while orienting new employees. The CT Technologist will work to understand the patient's physical and emotional status and will be expected to work well with all age groups. Responsibilities may expand based on the needs of the facility, including on-call rotation nights, weekends, and holidays, and performing basic diagnostic radiology tasks.

Requirements

  • Satisfactory completion of formal Radiologic Technology training in an AMA approved school or JCERT accredited program.
  • Computerized Tomography (CT) training or experience preferred.
  • ARRT certification required at the time of hire.
  • CT certification obtained within two years preferred per DICOE and ACR accreditation requirements.
  • Licensure through the North Dakota Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy Board required if working in North Dakota.
  • CT certification required within 24 months of hire if working in Aberdeen, SD.
  • Permit to practice through the Iowa Department of Public Health required if working in Iowa.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) and I.V. certification within six weeks of employment required.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in mobile imaging, electrocardiogram (EKG), cardiac monitor placement, and dual energy x-ray absorptiometry (DEXA) procedures.

Responsibilities
