About The Position

As a CT Technologist at UNC Health Appalachian, you'll use advanced imaging technology and compassionate patient interaction to deliver high-quality CT scans that support accurate diagnosis and treatment. You'll play a critical role in patient safety, imaging excellence, and coordinated care. Compensation: Starting pay begins at $33.44 per hour, with competitive rates based on experience, education, and certifications. Schedule: Full-time, variable shifts; nights, weekends, holidays, and on-call rotations required. Requirements

  • Graduate of an AMA-accredited radiologic sciences program.
  • Applicable registry credential required; R-CT preferred.
  • Clinical imaging experience gained through an AMA-accredited training program.
  • Ability to complete the CT Technologist Level II orientation program.
  • CT registry required within two years of achieving Level II competency.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association required at hire.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to provide patient-centered care.
  • Proficiency in radiation safety, imaging protocols, and equipment operation.
  • Ability to deliver safe, accurate imaging within licensure and hospital policies.
  • Excellent customer service and teamwork abilities.

Nice To Haves

  • One year of diagnostic radiology experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform high-quality CT examinations using established imaging protocols and clinical judgment.
  • Ensure patient safety through proper identification, positioning, shielding, and adherence to radiation safety standards.
  • Operate, troubleshoot, and maintain CT scanners and associated equipment.
  • Document procedures, enter exam details, and maintain accurate records in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR).
  • Partner with radiologists and clinical staff to support timely imaging and accurate interpretation.
  • Provide clear instructions and compassionate support to patients throughout imaging procedures.
  • Maintain compliance with hospital policies, regulatory requirements, and accreditation standards.
