About The Position

The purpose of this position is to perform a variety of imaging procedures, including CT and X-Rays, at a technical level not requiring constant supervision. The position is located at WellSpan Hospital in Carlisle, a 20 bed Small-Format Hospital, and involves working the night shift from 7 PM to 7 AM. The role includes providing technical assistance and supportive patient care to assist physicians, nurses, and other staff in meeting the needs of individual patients throughout the facility.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Graduation from an AMA-approved school of Radiology Technology.
  • Certified as a medical radiologic technologist as required by the state.
  • Registered Technologist with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in radiography.
  • CT certification required within 12 months of hire (Pennsylvania market).
  • Current BLS certification through the American Heart Association.
  • 2+ years radiologic/imaging experience preferred.
  • 1+ years of CT experience preferred.
  • 1+ years of emergency room experience preferred.
  • Proficiency with most X-ray/CT equipment, manufacturer’s hardware/software, and PACS.
  • Fluency in English; written and oral communication.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate’s Degree in Radiology preferred.
  • Registered Technologist with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in computed tomography preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Operate and maintain all imaging department equipment including X-Ray, CT, CR reader, and PACS.
  • Perform all imaging exams in accordance with established policies, procedures, regulations, and laws.
  • Notify the physician on duty of the results of imaging exams.
  • Perform basic clinical procedures under the direction of the physician and/or nurse on duty.
  • Maintain all required documentation, logs, charts, forms, and records in paper and electronic formats.
  • Collect laboratory samples and perform lab testing in accordance with established policies and procedures.
  • Maintain an adequate supply of all reagents and consumables to perform quality testing.
  • Perform routine maintenance and function checks on imaging equipment.
  • Perform Quality Control and Proficiency Testing as established by the facility.
  • Retain records of all analytic activities performed for a minimum of two years.
  • Perform Quality Assessment activities and document these for periodic review.
  • Perform duties as ER Technician as needed.
  • Travel to all facility locations as required.
  • Attend staff meetings or other company-sponsored or mandated meetings as required.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
