About The Position

The CT Technologist is responsible for providing courteous and professional delivery of CT technical procedures/exams to all incoming patients, operating radiologic equipment, and for all paperwork associated with technical procedures.

Requirements

• 1 year CT Experience (Preferred).
• Radiography - ARRT Required.
• Licensed Radiology Technologist (LRT) - KSBHA Required.
• Advanced Registry in CT is preferred.
• Basic Life Support - BLS Required within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic computed tomography procedures utilizing a pressure injector and administering contrast under supervision.
• Prepare and position patient for diagnostic computed tomography procedures.
• Adjust immobilization devices to obtain optimum views of specified area of body requested by physician.
• Determine exposure factors on basis of height, weight, portion of body involved, and degree of penetration required.
• Adjust equipment controls to set exposure factors and produce images of proper detail, density, and accuracy.
• Practice radiation protection techniques to minimize radiation to patient and staff.
• Perform a variety of technical procedures that will require independent judgement.
• Perform routine maintenance, diagnose malfunctions, and make minor repairs on radiologic equipment.
• Complete forms and maintain records, logs, and reports of work performed.
• Explain procedures to patient to reduce anxieties and obtain patient cooperation.
• Assist radiologist in examinations.
• Measure and mix contrast media for oral consumption.
• Process images and review for proper identification and quality control.
• Prepare images for reading by radiologist or requesting physician.
• Perform office work including answering phone, obtaining information from computer, and ordering departmental supplies.
• Perform venipuncture for injections.
• Comply with all policies, standards, mandatory training and requirements of Stormont Vail Health.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
