About The Position

The CT Technologist is responsible for providing courteous and professional delivery of CT technical procedures/exams to all incoming patients, operating radiologic equipment, and for all paperwork associated with technical procedures.

Requirements

  • 1 year CT Experience.
  • Radiography - ARRT Required.
  • Licensed Radiology Technologist (LRT) - KSBHA Required.
  • Basic Life Support - BLS Required within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

  • Perform diagnostic computed tomography procedures utilizing a pressure injector and administering contrast under supervision.
  • Prepare and position patient for diagnostic computed tomography procedures.
  • Adjust immobilization devices to obtain optimum views of specified area of body requested by physician.
  • Determine exposure factors on basis of height, weight, portion of body involved, and degree of penetration required, and adjust equipment controls to set exposure factors and produce images of proper detail, density, and accuracy.
  • Practice radiation protection techniques to minimize radiation to patient and staff.
  • Perform a variety of technical procedures that will require independent judgement, with ingenuity and initiative to apply prescribed ionizing radiation for radiologic diagnosis.
  • Perform routine maintenance, diagnose malfunctions, and make minor repairs on radiologic equipment, arranging for repairs as needed.
  • Complete forms and maintain records, logs, and reports of work performed.
  • Explain procedures to patient to reduce anxieties and obtain patient cooperation.
  • Assist radiologist in examinations.
  • Measure and mix contrast media for oral consumption.
  • Process images and review for proper identification and quality control.
  • Prepare images for reading by radiologist or requesting physician.
  • Perform office work including, but not limited to, answering phone, obtaining information from computer, and ordering departmental supplies.
  • Perform venipuncture for injections.
