About The Position

This is a PRN CT Technologist position located at West Hospital. The role involves operating a CT scanner, preparing and positioning patients, and screening them for safe scanning and administration of contrast. The technologist will obtain IV access and administer contrast as required, while being familiar with recognizing and responding to adverse contrast events. Knowledge of scan protocols and the selection of appropriate protocols to address clinical concerns is essential. The technologist will adjust scan parameters to ensure diagnostic images and collaborate with radiologists and referring physicians. Following radiation safety protocols, performing routine QC on equipment, and staying current with continuing education are also key responsibilities. The position requires effective communication with patients, families, and members of the care team, as well as documenting necessary information in the EMR. Additionally, the technologist may assist with minimally invasive procedures as needed.

Requirements

  • 0-3 years of relevant experience.
  • Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) is required.
  • Ability to maneuver equipment and improvise positions when the condition of the patient does not permit routine positioning.
  • Active status through ARRT: Registered Technologist - Radiography, RT(R) or Nuclear Medicine, RT(NM); or NMTCB: Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist (CNMT).
  • Advanced certification in Computed Tomography (CT) through ARRT or NMTCB within 12 months of hire.
  • Current Indiana State Department of Health (ISDH) license as Radiologic Technologist or Nuclear Medicine Technologist.
  • May be required to meet registry/certification requirements for another modality, if applicable.
