About The Position

The CT Technologist position is a PRN role responsible for performing radiographic procedures and ensuring patient safety and comfort during imaging processes. The technologist will access the patient's condition, administer contrast media, and operate radiographic equipment across various hospital units. This role also involves teaching radiography technology students and participating in quality assurance activities.

Requirements

• Graduate of accredited 2 year program in RT
• Current registration from American Registry of Radiologic Technologists
• 2 years demonstrable experience in diagnostic imaging

Responsibilities

• Access patient's condition prior to administering contrast media or performing radiography procedure
• Perform radiographic procedures as prescribed by physician determining proper technique through selection of voltage, current and exposure time
• Position patient for the proper view of affected area and instruct patient on proper physiological requirements for procedure
• Prepare contrast media and administer to patient either intravenously or through other body cavities
• Ensure that required consent forms are signed prior to procedure
• Chart completion of exams and other pertinent information in patient charts
• Discuss procedure results with departmental supervisor when indicated
• Participate in quality assurance monitoring and recording outcomes
• Operate portable radiographic equipment for performance of procedures throughout hospital including medical/surgical and cardiac care units and recovery and emergency rooms
• Work control desk and perform PACS duties as needed
• Ensure accurate PACS operation and transmission of images for interpretation
• Teach radiography technology students proper procedures, x-ray physics, equipment operation, anatomy and duties and responsibilities of RT
• Transport and assist other transport patients to/from imaging departments
