SUMMARY Responsible for performing CT procedures on patients of every age utilizing approved techniques and producing quality scans for physician interpretation.

Requirements

Current ARRT certification
Current SCRQSA license
Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology Program

Responsibilities

Reviews medical record for patient history and clinical data for correlation with CT
Performs CT procedures on patients of every age utilizing approved protocol. Displays knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy, pathology, and/or physiological data to obtain optimal studies
Assumes care for physical and psychological needs of patients during procedure
Selects technical factors and imaging mode
Evaluates images for technical quality and prepares for physician interpretation
Practices aseptic technique as necessary and/or universal precautions
Operates CT equipment and monitors function of equipment. Recognizes malfunctions and needs for servicing. Takes appropriate steps to report those needs
