About The Position

The CT Technologist II position at Edward Hospital in Naperville, IL involves operating computerized tomography (CT) scanners to obtain images for diagnostic purposes. The role requires working full-time hours from 11pm to 7am, with rotating weekends and holidays. A sign-on bonus of $20,000 is offered for this position.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required; a minimum of an Associate’s Degree preferred.
  • IEMA (Illinois Emergency Management Agency) licensure required.
  • Must be a candidate for ARRT (R) (American Registry of Radiological Technology) certification and complete the certification exam within six months of starting the position.
  • ARRT (CT) certification required within one year of starting the position.
  • Current CPR certification issued by the American Heart Association.
  • Strong computer skills and ability to troubleshoot software-related problems.
  • Post processing for CTA-Perfusion/Siemen experience preferred.
  • Prior CT experience preferred.
  • Willingness to cross-train to CT.

Responsibilities

  • Operates computerized tomography (CT) scanner to obtain filmed images for use by physicians in the diagnosis and treatment of pathologies.
  • Positions patients for procedures and administers injections of contrast media.
  • Operates scanners to visualize pathologies and manipulates images to find the best image possible.
  • Reproduces screen images on film.
  • Delivers and ensures customer service in all aspects of the job, being attentive to eye contact, facial/body expressions, and tone of voice.
  • Explains procedures to patients, giving them the opportunity for questions to reduce anxiety and promote trust.
