About The Position

The University of Rochester is seeking a full-time Certified CT Technologist to perform CT exams in compliance with the Imaging Sciences department and governing bodies. The position is located at 601 Elmwood Ave, Rochester, New York, and requires working evening shifts from Tuesday to Friday, 1:00 PM to 10:30 PM. The role involves using various CT scanners and medical record systems, ensuring high-quality imaging, and maintaining patient safety and comfort during procedures. The technologist will also be responsible for educating patients and families about procedures, preparing patients for imaging, and adhering to safety policies.

Requirements

• Completion of formal training in an approved school of radiologic technology.
• Current NYS licensure and American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification with CE credits as required.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in a clinical or hospital environment.
• Certification in Computed Tomography.
• Ability to perform all CT related duties.

Responsibilities

• Performs CT exams by following and verifying referring provider orders.
• Educates patients/families regarding procedures and treatments.
• Prepares patients for radiological/CT procedures by positioning them and adjusting immobilization devices.
• Ensures proper imaging techniques related to patients' age and ability to understand procedures.
• Produces high-quality images and prepares/presents them for timely interpretation.
• Maintains accurate documentation and adheres to safety policies.
• Practices radiation protection techniques (ALARA).
• Performs and evaluates equipment quality control measurements.
• Troubleshoots and notifies appropriate personnel to maintain equipment performance.
• May train new employees or lead day-to-day work activities.
