About The Position

The University of Rochester is seeking a full-time Certified CT Technologist to perform CT exams in compliance with the Imaging Sciences department and all governing bodies. The position is located at 601 Elmwood Ave, Rochester, New York, and requires working night shifts on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM. The role involves using various medical imaging equipment and ensuring high-quality imaging techniques while maintaining patient safety and comfort. The technologist will also be responsible for educating patients about procedures and maintaining accurate documentation.

Requirements

• Completion of formal training in an approved school of radiologic technology.
• Current NYS licensure and American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification with CE credits as required.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in a clinical or hospital environment.
• Certification in Computed Tomography.
• Ability to perform all CT-related duties.

Responsibilities

• Performs CT exams by following and verifying referring provider orders.
• Educates patients/families regarding procedures and/or treatments.
• Prepares patients for radiological/CT procedures by positioning them and adjusting immobilization devices.
• Moves equipment into specified positions and adjusts controls to set exposure factors.
• Ensures proper imaging techniques related to patients' age and ability to understand procedures.
• Produces high-quality images and prepares them for timely interpretation.
• Maintains production and quality of CT images by following established standards and protocols.
• Practices radiation protection techniques (ALARA) and maintains a safe environment.
• May train new employees or lead day-to-day work activities.
