About The Position

The University of Rochester is seeking a Radiologic Technologist to perform CT exams in compliance with the Imaging Sciences department and governing bodies. The position requires following and verifying referring providers' orders under regular supervision. Responsibilities include performing I-stats, pregnancy tests, starting IVs, scanning patients safely, injecting IV contrast, preparing oral contrast, and completing associated paperwork. The role also involves educating patients and families about procedures, maintaining accurate documentation, and ensuring high-quality imaging standards. The shift is Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 9:30 AM to 10:00 PM, qualifying for a weekend bonus and premium.

Requirements

• Completion of formal training in an approved School of Radiologic Technology required.
• Current NYS licensure as a Radiologic Technologist upon hire required.
• ARRT certification with CE credits upon hire required.

Responsibilities

• Performs CT exams by following and verifying referring providers' orders.
• Responsible for performing I-stats, pregnancy tests, starting IVs, and scanning patients safely.
• Injects IV contrast and prepares oral contrast.
• Completes all associated paper and computer work.
• Discharges patients from the CT department with appropriate post CT instructions.
• Identifies patient service requirements and educates patients/families regarding procedures.
• Prepares patients for radiological/CT procedures by positioning them and adjusting equipment.
• Produces high-quality images and prepares them for timely interpretation.
• Maintains production and quality of CT images by following established standards and protocols.
• Practices radiation protection techniques (ALARA).
• Performs and evaluates equipment quality control measurements.
• Maintains a safe environment for patients, personnel, and visitors.
• May train new employees or lead day-to-day work activities.
• Other duties as assigned.
