About The Position

The CT Technologist at Baylor Scott & White Medical Center is responsible for performing computed tomography (CT) procedures on patients as requested by physicians. This role involves ensuring high-quality imaging, maintaining safety protocols, and providing excellent patient care under the supervision of a Radiologist. Requirements

  • Must have experience in CT and X-Rays or be willing to perform X-Rays.
  • Certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists in Computed Tomography (ARRT-CT).
  • Certification in Radiography (ARRT-R) or Nuclear Medicine (ARRT-N) is also required.

  • Experience in cross-training across modalities.
  • Ability to serve as a preceptor for new team members.

Responsibilities

  • Perform high quality CT procedures according to exam protocol in a timely manner.
  • Maintain production and quality of imaging procedures by following established standards and procedures.
  • Utilize AIDET when communicating with patients to ensure correct exam is performed and establish rapport.
  • Instruct and communicate with patients and their families regarding the test to be performed.
  • Prepare patient and area for procedure by positioning patient and adjusting equipment controls.
  • Protect patients and employees by adhering to safety requirements and infection-control policies.
  • Use proper sterile techniques when performing invasive multimodality procedures.
  • Maintain equipment and work area to meet quality and cleanliness standards.
  • Work with engineers and physicists to ensure optimal operational capabilities of equipment.
  • Report issues to management or appropriate department.
  • Assist in maintaining supplies inventory.
  • Ensure safety by screening individuals entering the department.
  • Obtain, verify, and maintain all relevant documentation for procedures.
  • Maintain medical imaging records according to department policies.
