About The Position

UPMC is seeking a CT Technologist Adv Multi Skill to support the Imaging Administration at UPMC Lititz. This position involves performing imaging procedures at a technical level not requiring constant supervision, and competently performing a variety of technical procedures that require independent judgment, ingenuity, and initiative to apply prescribed ionizing radiation for diagnostic purposes. The role requires travel to the Outpatient Center on Manheim Pike and involves a holiday rotation, with on-call responsibilities of 1 evening per week and 1 weekend per month.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an ARRT approved school of Radiologic Technology or completion of an accredited CNMT program.
  • 2 years of experience required in primary specialty.
  • Must hold registry in each specialty.
  • Must have obtained a performance review rating of strong/solid/good on most recent performance review to be eligible for promotion.
  • ARRT certified as a CT Technologist with active certification in second specialty.
  • Must maintain 2 imaging registries/certifications and maintain competency in both as required by hiring Business Unit.
  • Must provide flexibility to work least one off-shift (evening, nights or weekend), every 90 days as requested by imaging leadership.
  • CPR required based on AHA standards within 30 days of hire.

Nice To Haves

  • Certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) for those working in NY facilities performing contrast media injection.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Responsibilities

  • Participates in standardization activities with system-level workgroups.
  • Performs or assists Clinical Specialist in performing QA, regulatory testing, and other technical and research initiatives.
  • Assist with the training of staff and student technologists.
  • Performs all job responsibilities of CT Tech I.
  • Demonstrates the ability to function independently, and is able to cover off shifts, on-call responsibilities, and perform services at satellite facilities.
  • Demonstrates a willingness to learn new skills and educate others in their areas of expertise.
  • Maintains flexibility to work within different clinical areas to support the needs of the departments.
  • Demonstrates competency of specialty equipment and analyzes data promptly.
  • Monitors quality control activities and demonstrates advanced level of knowledge in Diagnostic Imaging.
  • Works directly with Radiologists regarding protocol development.
  • Works as a team member within assigned departments to expedite patient care efficiently.
