About The Position

The CT Tech 2 is accountable for performing Computed Tomography procedures, which produce high quality diagnostic films. This role operates on a level not requiring constant supervision. The position involves performing a variety of procedures for CT, including but not limited to basic portable, fluoroscopy, extremity and chest x-rays, basic computer skills, biopsies, drainage, trauma alerts, core CT, CT advanced level recons, neurovascular CTA, IV skills, and QA maintenance. The CT Tech 2 also assists the manager with the implementation of policy and procedures, participates in interdepartmental committee involvement, and serves as a preceptor for the department. These procedures require independent judgement, ingenuity, and initiative when utilizing ionizing radiation for diagnostic purposes. Additionally, the role is responsible for performing job duties in accordance with the mission, vision, and values of Tampa General Hospital.

Requirements

  • Degree: Radiologic Technology
  • License: Radiology Technologist
  • Registered American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) as an Radiation Therapy (RT), Nuclear Medicine (NM) or Radiography (R) Or American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) CT Registry required
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • One (1) year progressive responsibility within a CT diagnostic imaging department

Responsibilities

  • Perform Computed Tomography procedures to produce high quality diagnostic films.
  • Work on a level not requiring constant supervision.
  • Perform a variety of procedures for CT, including but not limited to basic portable, fluoroscopy, extremity and chest x-rays, basic computer skills, biopsies, drainage, trauma alerts, core CT, CT advanced level recons, neurovascular CTA, and IV skills.
  • Perform QA maintenance.
  • Assist manager with the implementation of policy and procedures.
  • Involve in interdepartmental committee.
  • Serve as a preceptor for the department.
  • Utilize independent judgement, ingenuity and initiative when utilizing ionizing radiation for diagnostic purposes.
  • Perform job duties in accordance with the mission, vision and values of Tampa General Hospital.
