About The Position

The University of Rochester is seeking a full-time CT Technologist to perform CT exams in compliance with the Imaging Sciences department and governing bodies. The position is based at 601 Elmwood Ave, Rochester, New York, and requires working night shifts from 2:30 PM to 1:00 AM on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays. The role involves preparing patients for procedures, ensuring high-quality imaging, and maintaining safety standards. The technologist will also be responsible for equipment quality control and may train new employees.

Requirements

• Completion of formal training in an approved school of radiologic technology.
• Current NYS licensure and American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification with CE credits as required.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in a clinical or hospital environment.
• Certification in Computed Tomography.
• Ability to perform all CT related duties.

Responsibilities

• Performs CT exams by following and verifying referring provider orders.
• Educates patients/families regarding procedures and treatments.
• Prepares patients for radiological/CT procedures by positioning them and adjusting immobilization devices.
• Ensures proper imaging techniques related to patients' age and ability to understand procedures.
• Produces high-quality images and prepares them for timely interpretation.
• Maintains accurate documentation and adheres to safety policies.
• Practices radiation protection techniques (ALARA).
• Troubleshoots and notifies appropriate personnel to maintain equipment performance.
• May train new employees or lead day-to-day work activities.
