About The Position

The University of Rochester is seeking a Radiologic Technologist to perform CT exams in compliance with the Imaging Sciences department and governing bodies. The position requires following and verifying referring providers' orders under regular supervision. Responsibilities include performing I-stats, pregnancy tests, starting IVs, scanning patients safely, injecting IV contrast, preparing oral contrast, and completing associated paperwork. The technologist will also educate patients and families about procedures, maintain accurate documentation, and ensure high-quality imaging.

Requirements

• Completion of formal training in an approved School of Radiologic Technology.
• Current NYS licensure as a Radiologic Technologist upon hire.
• ARRT certification with CE credits upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Performs CT exams by following and verifying referring providers' orders.
• Educates patients/families regarding procedures and treatments.
• Prepares patients for radiological/CT procedures by positioning them and adjusting equipment.
• Produces high-quality images and prepares them for interpretation.
• Maintains production and quality of CT images by following established standards.
• Practices radiation protection techniques using beam restrictive devices and patient shielding.
• Performs and evaluates equipment quality control measurements.
• Maintains a safe environment for patients, personnel, and visitors.
• May train new employees or lead day-to-day work activities.
