The position is located at 601 Elmwood Ave, Rochester, New York, and is a full-time role with scheduled weekly hours of 40. The work shift is Monday-Thursday from 7:30 PM to 6:00 AM. The compensation range for this position is $33.00 - $42.90 per hour, with individual salaries determined by factors such as market data, education, experience, qualifications, and internal equity considerations.

Requirements

  • Completion of formal training in an approved school of radiologic technology.
  • Maintains current NYS licensure and American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification with CE credits as required.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a clinical or hospital environment with a focus on Computed Tomography.
  • Certification in Computed Tomography.
  • Ability to perform all CT-related duties.

Responsibilities

  • Performs CT exams by following and verifying referring provider orders and remaining in compliance with the Imaging Sciences department and all governing bodies.
  • Identifies patient service requirements and educates patients/families regarding procedures and/or treatments to be performed.
  • Prepares patients for radiological/CT procedures by positioning them and adjusting immobilization devices.
  • Moves equipment into specified positions and adjusts equipment controls to set exposure factors.
  • Ensures proper imaging techniques related to patients' age and ability to understand procedures to ensure image quality is successfully obtained.
  • Produces high-quality images and prepares/presents them with other pertinent patient information for timely interpretation.
  • Maintains production and quality of CT images by following established standards, orders, protocols, and procedures.
  • Practices radiation protection techniques (ALARA) using beam restrictive devices and patient shielding.
  • Performs and evaluates equipment quality control measurements and troubleshoots equipment performance.
  • Maintains a safe environment for patients, personnel, and visitors, adhering to safety policies.
  • At an advanced level, may train new employees or lead day-to-day work activities.
