About The Position

Under direct supervision of the Diagnostic Imaging Manager or CMO, the Computed Tomography Technologist (CTT) takes patient history, explains standard procedures, answers patient questions, and uses specialized computerized X-ray equipment to produce cross-sectional images of the human anatomy. These images assist radiologists in diagnosing a wide variety of diseases and disorders. Maintains confidentiality of all privileged information.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED and completion of formal radiologic technology training in an AMA-approved school; must meet requirements for registry by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
  • CT Technician certification required.
  • Ultrasound certification through American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers or ARRT.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire.
  • Knowledge and consistent application of current safety standards.
  • Familiarity with ideal patient experience protocols and continuous improvement practices.
  • Comprehensive mastery of CT imaging apparatus for ambulatory/Primary Care/Urgent Care services.
  • Ability to perform routine and immediate X-ray exams.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with providers and staff.
  • Ability to submit imaging data to regulatory and accreditation agencies (e.g., American College of Radiology).
  • Ability to maintain credentials and licenses as required.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for working with diverse populations and tribal health patients.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Ability to establish and maintain professional relationships across cultural and social backgrounds.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and follow verbal/written instructions.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint) and Electronic Health Record systems.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and proper handling of Protected Health Information (PHI).

Responsibilities

  • Support the Imaging Department, including X-ray, ultrasound, and CT as needed for ambulatory/Primary Care/Urgent Care services.
  • Perform whole-body imaging studies using department apparatus for ambulatory/Primary Care/Urgent Care level of service.
  • Conduct routine and immediate plain film X-ray exams.
  • Evaluate accuracy and quality of images; provide technical assistance to staff.
  • Demonstrate techniques, equipment, and procedures to staff.
  • Implement and monitor radiation safety measures to ensure patient and staff safety.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory agencies.
  • Review work schedules and assign duties to maintain patient flow.
  • Achieve production goals in conjunction with Clinic/Diagnostic Imaging Manager and CMO.
  • Ensure retention and maintenance of Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care (AAAHC) status.
  • Develop and implement plans, policies, and procedures regarding operations and staffing.
  • Maintain stock of radiology supplies through approved purchasing pathways.
