Requirements

  • Minimum 1 year of experience in Diagnostic Radiology.
  • Graduate of accredited School of Radiologic Technology.
  • Responsible for continuing education credits as mandated by the ARRT for licensure.
  • American Registry of Radiologic Technology certification.
  • AART - CT Technology within 6 months of start.
  • BLS for Healthcare Providers through AHA or CPR through American Red Cross.

Nice To Haves

  • At least 1 year of experience as a CT Technologist.
  • American Society of Radiologic Technology certification.
  • Virginia Society of Radiologic Technology membership.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrates ability to obtain quality CT images and to perform CT Studies.
  • Complies with radiation safety guidelines.
  • Operates CT equipment safely.
  • Demonstrates ability to perform all necessary computer operations.
  • Render patient care in professional and courteous manner and always identifies patients utilizing the proper protocol.
  • Prepare CT scanner and perform quality control tests.
  • Assist the radiologist in administering medication, contrast agents, performing biopsies and all types of care to patients.
  • Reviews each exam for technical accuracy and identifies anatomical orientation on all images.
  • Demonstrates willingness to assist in additional duties.
  • Maintains work area in a clean and orderly manner.
  • Maintains strict confidentiality regarding employees and patients according to policy and procedure.
  • Completes and maintains educational requirements.
