About The Position

CT Tech - Outpatient Cardiology Office - Clifton Park, NY - Part Time Outpatient CT Tech for Cardiac Imaging location at 1735 US 9. Will be doing Calcium Scoring and Coronary CTA, part time Position Highlights: Quality of Life: Where career opportunities and quality of life converge Advancement: Strong orientation program, generous tuition allowance and career development Office Hours: Monday - Friday; 20 hours per week Responsibilities: ASSESSMENT/INSTRUCTION: Obtains and records a complete clinical history pertinent to examination requested. Evaluates requests for appropriateness, refers concerns to coordinator and/or radiologist. Instructs patients as to the nature of the exam being performed. Effectively communicates information regarding post procedures. IMAGE QUALITY Selects appropriate technical factors for requested imaging exam. Demonstrates accurate positioning technique according to department protocol. Demonstrates proper use of positioning devices and other equipment necessary to provide safe, accurate and complete exams. Assists in the instruction of new personnel. RADIATION PROTECTION Ensures proper radiation protection measures are taken to provide an ALARA environment for patients, co-workers and self. Incorporates proper use of shielding as outlined by department protocols. Is responsible for understanding the ALARA program and actively participating in dosimetry program. DOCUMENTATION Effectively completes all required documentation related to patient care, imaging procedures and RIS requirements. Documents and reports all incidents, radiation safety concerns and equipment malfunctions to coordinator in a timely fashion.

Requirements

  • AAS in Radiologic Technology or equivalent hospital based certificate program.
  • Current NYS license required.

Nice To Haves

  • Completion of cross-sectional anatomy course preferred.
  • Two years of experience as a Radiologic Technologist preferre
