About The Position

Under the Supervision of the lead technologist, the technologist will follow established policies, perform established CT protocols, venipuncture, tele-radiography, complete routine clerical tasks and assist patients. The technologist will apply prescribed ionizing radiation in order to assist physicians in the diagnosis and treatment of patient’s illness or injury.

Requirements

  • Minimum 1-2 years of CT experience, preferably in a hospital environment
  • Excellent communication, customer service and organizational skills
  • Ability to work productively in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing as needed
  • High level of technical and informatics knowledge and skill
  • Must perform venipuncture for purposes of contrast administration under the direction of the radiologist. Must follow all hospital and departmental contrast administration policies and procedures.
  • Graduate of an approved school of Radiologic Technology.
  • Associate’s degree in Radiologic Technology.
  • ARRT certification in Radiologic Technology and Computerized Tomography
  • Massachusetts DPH Radiation Control License in Radiologic Technology and Computerized Tomography
  • Venipuncture certification which is provided from the institution during the 12 week probationary period.
  • Use hands to control objects, tools, or controls, stand or sit for long periods of time, repeat the same movements, on feet for long periods of time, bend or twist body.
  • See details of objects that are less than a few feet away, hold the arm and hand in one position or hold the hand steady while moving the arm, make quick, precise adjustments to machine controls, use fingers or hands to grasp, move, or assemble objects, move two or more limbs together (for example, two arms, two legs, or one leg and one arm) while remaining in place, speak clearly so listeners can understand, understand the speech of another person, use stomach and lower back muscles to support the body for long periods without getting tired.
  • Ability to effectively communicate to all age levels served within the scope of the position/assigned areas.
  • Must have the ability to perform the essential functions of the position without posing a direct threat to the health and safety of themselves or other individuals in the workplace, with or without a reasonable accommodation.
