About The Position

Mercy Health is a faith-based and patient-focused organization dedicated to enhancing the health and well-being of all people through exceptional patient care. The CT Technologist provides direct patient care by applying the skill of diagnostic imaging utilizing CT scanning equipment. This position is scheduled for weekends only, specifically on Friday, Saturday, or Sunday, with a total of 24 scheduled hours per week. The role qualifies for a 30% pay premium as part of the weekend-only program.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree from an ARRT accredited institute (preferred).
  • BLS Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association (preferred upon hire, must obtain from approved source prior to direct patient care).
  • Registration with ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) (required).
  • Advanced modality registration in CT, ARRT (preferred, or must obtain within 2 years).
  • State Licensure (preferred, unless required by the state where the job is being performed).
  • 1 year of experience as a CT or Rad Tech (preferred).
  • Experience with EPIC Electronic Health Record (EHR) (preferred).
  • Experience with Picture Archiving Communication System (PACS) (preferred).

Responsibilities

  • Confirm that all pertinent patient and procedural data is correct.
  • Perform computed tomography procedures.
  • Properly position and immobilize patients on CT scanning cradles.
  • Make radiation exposures by energizing the scanner.
  • Perform intravenous injections and administer oral, rectal, and IV radiographic contrast agents specific to procedures.
  • Assist the radiologist with biopsies and drainage procedures.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of all CT IT systems, including Radiant and PACS.
  • Participate in on-call rotation and timeout as required.
